Durable granite bench tops
I have found another good reason to install granite bench tops in new kitchens. Just the other day I was cutting cheese on the bench in our kitchen, not on a cutting board, but on the bench surface itself. It was not granite. I noticed as I was finishing making the cuts that there was a small mark near the area I was at, and when I looked closer it turned out to be a tiny scratch. That surprised me because our bench is not quite one year old. And already it is scratched. If it had been a granite top I am sure the scratch would not have been made. So, there is a very good reason to put granite onto your surfaces.
