My college room mate is a great guitar player.  Because he is so good I decided that I would start to learn how to play as of last year.  I am now an OK player that knows a few tricks up his sleeve.  However, I do not know very much and have actually been learning a few different techniques.  One involves doing alternate picking exercises to build up my finger strength and music memory.  I am very happy about it and love doing what I do.  There are no better ways to learn than from a really good friend that is good.
