I was visiting a friend last week when I noticed a special cookbook on her shelf. It offered gluten-free recipes. I wasn’t even sure that I knew what gluten was, so I quizzed Sue. It seems that her grandson started having gluten allergy symptoms when he was a very young boy. The doctor said that the entire family would need to know how to prepare foods for him that would not trigger his allergy. My friend, as Grandmother, wanted to make sure that the foods he ate when he came to visit her would be safe and harmless too. I guess cooking this way is just another way to show her family how much she cares.
