Foreign Exchange Student Living with Host Family in Medellin
I am living out one of my dreams; finishing my senior year of high school as a foreign exchange student. Traveling and studying abroad has always been an ambition of mine and now I find myself in Medellin, Columbia. My host family are wonderful people, very warm and friendly. They live in one of the lovely Medellin apartments located in the El Poblado neighborhood. This is one of the nicer districts in the city and is quite safe and secure, even for tourists. Public transportation is readily available and quite inexpensive compared to what we pay in the US. I have my choice of taking the Metro or riding a bus to school. Even though it means I will be away from my family for several months, I wouldn’t have missed this opportunity for the world.
